Regenerative Farming
Organic Standards:
Organic farmers, ranchers, and food processors follow a defined set of standards to produce organic food and fiber. Congress described general organic principles in the Organic Foods Production Act, and the USDA defines specific organic standards. These standards cover the product from farm to table, including soil and water quality, pest control, livestock practices, and rules for food additives.
Organic farms and processors:
Preserve natural resources and biodiversity
Support animal health and welfare
Provide access to the outdoors so that animals can exercise their natural behaviors
Only use approved materials
Do not use genetically modified ingredients
Receive annual onsite inspections
Separate organic food from non-organic food
THE ABOVE IS DIRECTLY FROM THE USDA WEBSITE.
Now here is what ORGANIC is NOT ADDRESSING:
IN REGARDS TO ANIMALS:
ACCESS to the outdoors DOES NOT MEAN THE ANIMAL ACTUALLY GOES OUTSIDE. Poultry never goes outside. This includes Organic turkey & chicken.
Turkeys & Chickens are raised in houses and they will NEVER go outdoors simply out of FEAR. Their natural instincts are going to keep them huddled indoors where it is familiar and SAFE.
Everything and its mama is trying to eat a chicken- from dogs and hawks to foxes, snakes and other creatures. Chickens are CHICKEN- I mean they are SCARED to death as they well should be. Turkey's are the same. Organic birds are raised in a house 10,000 to 20,000 birds at a time & they are missing the 5 essentials for life.
5 Essentials for Life:
- Clean Air
- Clean Water
- Clean and LIVE SOIL with beneficial bacteria and BUGS!
- SUNSHINE
- Stress free lifestyle with correct feed
These birds are not vegetarians so when they are unable to forage in the woods and on healthy pastures packed with bugs and other microorganisms, they are lacking massive nourishment. When you put that many birds in a house- there is no clean air, no sunshine, no healthy soil with access to bugs and other beneficial bacteria so these ORGANIC birds are NOT HEALTHY.
They are diseased because they are in a state of acidosis from an imbalanced diet lacking an alkalizing salad bar but they are also stressed out from living in an atmosphere lacking the 5 essentials for life. The egg producing birds are worse off because they are forced to give life under these conditions. This is obvious from the weak eggshells that are a tell tale sign of eggs coming from birds in a house vs. those on mineral dense pasture with balanced healthy soil. You can also tell by the pale yellows and more over by the watery whites vs. the thick standing egg whites from our pastured birds.
THE ANIMAL WELFARE PROGRAM DOES NOT ADDRESS THE 5 ESSENTIALS FOR LIFE OR GET INVOLVED IN THE LACK OF FEED STANDARDS IN OUR NATION.
PORK- Hogs are also missing the 5 essentials for life though they would go outside if given a chance. Even those that are allowed to go out are penned on the same small land parcel lacking forage and they are still being fed organic SOY which is a tumor grower and hormone disruptor. This creature that suffers from acidosis and stress is then ground to make sausages with added GMO sugars and other toxic food conditioners.
When hogs are unable to forage and root in the dirt and have access to clean and healthy pastures, they over eat the grains and suffer from acidosis and stress from the reflux and other digestive ailments they suffer from during their lifetime. None of these items are addressed in the Organic Standards.
Organic BEEF & DAIRY animals are still raised with dewormers and other pharmacuticals which are not addresses in the Organic Standards. Organic beef & dairy still allows for the animal to be GRAIN FED which is incorrect. These beeves should be raised on grasses, not grains and therefore their meat & milk is rich in Omega 6 fatty acids causing inflammation and disease vs. Omega 3 fatty acids which promote health.
These meats and dairy animals also suffer from acidosis which is a popular reason most dieticians promote less red meat or vegan and vegetarian lifestyles. We however require healthy animal fats and other nutrients to THRIVE. This is an important reason to seek out a local farmer who is raising beef and dairy animals correctly.
Certain aspects of the animal life is ignored under the organic certification. For example, naturally, cows will seek shade and choose their pasture habits according to the climate, however, the only outdoor access many of these beeves are allowed is to a treeless field with scorching temperatures and zero shade. Many times the animals suffer because the distance to the only water source is far, yet all these situations occur because these are not addressed under the organic standard.
Dairy is also coming from incorrect breeds and then those animals are pushed to overproduce causing stress hormones which are transferred into the milk and then the milk is pasteurized and homogenized which changes the chemistry of the milk. At that moment- it has ZERO nutrition.
Organic dairy products also have additional ingredients added to condition the dairy products to extend their shelf life such as carageenan and Disodium Phosphate (DSP), both of which are allowed and NOT ADDRESSED under the Organic standards. Carageenan is a known carcinogen. DSP is a Class D - Poisonous and Infectious Material.
When it comes to animal products, ORGANIC DOES NOT MEAN HEALTHY.
PRODUCE that is certified organic is mostly safer than NON-ORGANIC however buying produce from a farmer you know is optimal.
